Trina Wilson who has served as volunteer and mobile pantry coordinator for the past two years at the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank, will be taking over the sole responsibility of the mobile pantries.
Travis Sorensen, who was the development coordinator, will take over as volunteer coordinator.
Wilson is responsible for 10 mobile pantries that operate on a monthly basis in Berryville, Fayetteville, Prairie Grove, Bentonville, Huntsville, Siloam Springs, Springdale, Lowell, Bentonville and Bella Vista.
Wilson said she sees great potential for growth in the mobile pantries and the communities that are being served. The mobile pantries generally supply state and USDA food boxes as well as fresh produce and protein.
“Trina is doing a great job with Mobile Services,” said Casey Cowan, director of client services. “I know her drive and dedication will help continue to grow these services in our four-county area.”
She has a degree in criminal justice with an emphasis in paralegal studies and a minor in chemistry from Northeast State University in Tahlequah, Okla. She has a 14-year-old son, Rece.
Sorensen has been with the Food Bank for three years, most recently as development coordinator.
In his new job, he will be working with volunteers and volunteer events as well as volunteer recruitment and scheduling. Volunteers help not only on projects but also in turn help save the Food Bank in labor costs that can then be used to purchase food.
In addition, Sorensen also will serve as marketing coordinator to manage social media and website for the Food Bank.
“I have a passion to spread the word about the Food Bank on a digital platform,” he said.
“Travis is a highly relational leader. Our volunteer program is in good hands under his direction,” said Mike Williams, director of development.
He has a communications degree from the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. He and his wife, Cambre, have been married for four years.
