Apply for SNAP Benefits

Through our SNAP Application Assistance Program, we assist eligible individuals and families in applying for food stamps!

We help neighbors complete their applications, submit appropriate documents, and submit the application to DHS for review and processing. Assistance is provided over-the-phone or you can connect with our SNAP Outreach Coordinator in-person—whatever works best for you!

What is SNAP?

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides a monthly benefit amount on an EBT card to eligible individuals/families. These benefits can be used when buying food at grocery stores or farmers markets that accept EBT—making it possible for individuals/families to shop for fresh produce, foods that meet specific dietary needs, and foods fulfilling cultural preferences.

SNAP is an entitlement program funded by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) that offers benefits to millions of individuals and families nationwide and is available to everyone who meets income eligibility requirements and citizenship/immigration status requirements. The Department of Human Services (DHS) reviews all applications and makes decisions on approval and benefit amount based on household size, income, living expenses, medical expenses, and disability status. While we are a community partner with DHS, we cannot answer questions about applications that have already been submitted. For questions regarding your SNAP case, please contact your local DHS county office.
