FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Three women holding a box of toasty o 's cereal

It’s often difficult for seniors on fixed incomes to afford groceries once all their other bills are paid. Which is why Billie, JoAnn and Joyce are all so thankful for your support!

We met up with the two sisters, JoAnn, 81, and Joyce, 82 and their good friend Billie, 79, at a Mobile Pantry in Hunstville. Joyce told the sisters about the pantry, and they’ve all been coming once a month ever since.

“We use [everything] they give us,” Billie says, gratefully.

All three women now rely on Social Security income each month, but it’s limited — and groceries are expensive. They say health insurance and cost of living expenses have also increased, leaving them even less money to pay for groceries.

The ladies really enjoy the juice, canned vegetables and fresh produce they take home from the mobile pantry. Thanks to your gifts, they can stock up and have enough nutritious groceries to last them through the end of the month.

“It’s good for people with fixed incomes,” says Joyce, who also picks up groceries for her elderly sister–in–law.

Thank you for giving our senior neighbors the help they need to stretch their fixed incomes. They’ll continue eating the nutritious food their bodies need because of caring people like you.

“Thank you!” all three women echo.
