FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Bocca Italian eatery & pizzeria is raising money for local charities with its new Bocca Gives
Back program. Every Monday, Bocca will donate 10 percent of its sales from its Fayetteville
and Rogers locations to a non-profit organization. Bocca will choose a charity to feature each
month and all the monies raised from each Monday in that month will go to that charity.
Celebrating its 30th year, the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank is the featured charity for
September.
Northwest Arkansas Food Bank (a 501c3 organization) was established in 1988 by a group of
concerned citizens who saw the need for hunger assistance in Benton, Washington, Madison
and Carroll counties. In 2017, the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank distributed more than 12.5
million pounds of food. Together with more than 160 partner agencies, the organization is able
to reach out to those in need, providing nutritious food to children, the working poor and senior
citizens. The Northwest Arkansas Food Bank is an affiliate of Feeding America and a founding
member of the Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance.
September is Hunger Action Month, a month where people all over America stand together
with Feeding America and the nationwide network of food banks to fight hunger. It's a month to
spread the word and take action on the hunger crisis.
Bocca is proud to partner with the Northwest Arkansas Food Bank to reach those in need. The
restaurant is located at 2036 N. College Ave. in Fayetteville and at 2011 S. Promenade
Boulevard in Rogers. To join the cause, all you have to do is dine at either Bocca location on a
Monday night. You don’t have to mention the charity by name; although if you’d like to help
spread the word through social media you can hashtag #BoccaGivesBack and
#NWAFoodBank.
Why is Bocca giving back? Because the owners believe that community is meaningful, people
matter, and giving back is important.
